🎲 Wednesday, November 12 – Board Game Night (18:00 @ Pavilion Triton, TU/e Campus)
Calling all board game enthusiasts! Come unwind with fellow Nexus members at our monthly Board Game Night. Bring your competitive spirit or just come to have fun, there’s a game for every taste and level, from beginners to hardcore players. You can also bring your own game! Dinner is not provided (but participants often order together!), and we'll supply snacks and drinks. (Free entry, Pavilion Triton on Google Maps)

Nexus Circus Halloween Friettafel & Movie Night 🎃 🍟 🎬

What a spooky success! On October 31st, we traded thesis stress for laughter, costumes, and pumpkin vibes at Hubble and the Zwarte Doos. Guests enjoyed fries, a not-too-scary movie, and a free drink for those in costume. From ghouls to glittery pumpkins, it was a frightfully fun night to remember! 👻

Nexus Language Cafe 6 🗨️

Our 6th Nexus Language Café on October 22nd brought together language lovers for an evening of fun and conversation. Participants chatted in Dutch, French, Spanish, and Italian, all while enjoying snacks, drinks, and great company in the Eurandom Lounge. Thanks to everyone who joined us for another lively, multilingual evening, we can’t wait for the next one! 🙂

Nexus Cycling Lichtjes Route 🌌🚴

What a magical evening it was! On Thursday, October 9, we biked 22 km through Eindhoven’s iconic Lichtjesroute, surrounded by sparkling lights, art, and history. 🌟

We started from the Zwarte Doos on campus, made a stop at Eendjesvijver, and wrapped up the ride back at campus, glowing (literally and figuratively). Some joined for a cheerful dinner at Hubble beforehand, the perfect warm-up for an evening of freedom and light. 💡✨

Nexus Circus Smithing Workshop 🔥⚒️

On September 27th, Nexus members took part in a blacksmithing workshop at Atelier van Dongen in Den Bosch. Over the course of the afternoon, participants learned the fundamentals of working with fire and metal, gaining hands-on experience in this traditional craft. The event concluded with a drink in the city, rounding off a unique and enjoyable day together.

Nexus Language Cafe 5 🗨️

On Tuesday, September 23rd, we gathered for the 5th edition of the Nexus Language Café in the Eurandom Lounge. Participants enjoyed practicing Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, and more in a relaxed and welcoming setting. With snacks and drinks on hand, the atmosphere was lively and social, making it easy to connect with new people and strengthen language skills. The event once again showed the fun of learning through conversation, and we look forward to the next café!

Nexus Housing PhD Masterclass

On Monday, August 25th, TU/e PhDs 🎓 joined an insightful masterclass on navigating the Dutch housing market 🏠. Experts from Corporate Housing Solutions & Expat Mortgage shared tips on mortgage options 💶, borrowing power 💳, legal processes 📜, and strategies for a smooth purchase. Attendees also had the chance to ask questions ❓ and even received a free personalized mortgage calculation 📊 to kickstart their journey toward home ownership.

Nexus Circus Kids Game

On Wednesday, August 20th, we returned to childhood at Philips de Jongh Wandelpark 🌳 with an evening full of laughter 😂, outdoor games 🤸, and friendly competition 🏆. Many joined beforehand for a pancake dinner 🥞 at De Proeftuin. The highlight was a custom-designed outdoor game, Treasure Island, bringing out everyone’s playful side! 😄

Nexus Running Clinic 2

On August 18, Runners of all levels 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ came together for our second Nexus Running Clinic, guided by a professional coach from Loopritme. Participants learned about injury prevention 🩹, running techniques 👟, and endurance exercises 💪, all while receiving personalized coaching. The session wrapped up with healthy snacks & drinks 🥤🍎 and plenty of motivation to keep training strong!

Nexus Circus Canoe Trip

On Sunday, August 3rd, we made a summer splash with our relaxing canoe trip down the Dommel! Starting from Happy Canoe, teams of 2–3 paddled through the lush green heart of Eindhoven toward the High Tech Campus, enjoying sunshine, good company, and a peaceful glide with nature 🚣‍♀️🌞

After a short break, we floated back with the current and wrapped up the adventure with refreshing drinks at the Genneper Parken Paviljoen. 🍹 Whether seasoned paddlers or first-timers, everyone embraced the fun (and a little splash)!

Nexus Circus Volleyball Tournament 🏐

On Wednesday July 16, the SSC beach fields came alive with sunshine, laughter, and friendly competition during the Beach Volleyball Tournament!
Participants teamed up and battled it out for fun prizes 🎁, while enjoying included drinks 🍻 and snacks 🍟. The evening kicked off with an early dinner 🍽️ at the Student Sports Café, setting the tone for a chill evening of sports and socializing.

With nice weather ☀️, relaxed vibes 😎, and great company, the event was a fantastic way to celebrate summer together. Thanks to everyone who joined, played, and made it an unforgettable evening! 🙌

Nexus Running Clinic 1

On Monday, July 7, runners of all levels gathered at Karpendonkse Plas for the first session of the Nexus 3-part Running Clinic series. Led by a professional marathon coach from Loopritme, participants spent two energizing hours focusing on injury prevention, running technique, endurance building, and personalized training tips.

The scenic setting behind TU/e offered the perfect backdrop for learning and movement, with attendees leaving not only more informed, but also more motivated to hit their goals. Session 1 was a strong start to the series, see you at the next one! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️

Nexus Circus Bike Trip & Tour 🏰

On Sunday, June 22, we biked from TU/e to the beautiful abbey of De Achelse Kluis for a day of history, and good company. After a scenic 1.5 hour ride, we enjoyed an English-guided tour of the abbey.

Nexus Circus Grand Prix 🏁

On Tuesday, June 3, we hit the outdoor track at Outdoorkarting De Landsard for an unforgettable evening of high-speed fun! With two thrilling 10-minute heats, racers battled for the fastest lap on a longer, faster circuit.

The energy was electric and the competition fierce. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up on time, followed safety rules, and brought the spirit!

Nexus Circus Karaoke

On May 23, Nexus members gathered at Tokyo By Night in Eindhoven for a night full of music, laughter, and unforgettable performances! With private rooms, everyone got the chance to belt out their favorite songs in good company.

🎵 A relaxed vibe, great energy, and a free first drink got the night started right.
🎟️ Tickets sold out quickly, and our private rooms kept the vibe fun and personal.

On May 14, TU/e PhD candidates met at The Gate for an exclusive workshop on Intellectual Property, patents, and valorization. Experts from TU/e’s startup hub shared practical advice on protecting research, commercializing innovations, and turning ideas into impact.

Nexus Neon Party

On May 9, Nexus turned Ketelhuis into a glowing dance haven, and it was nothing short of electrifying! With neon lights, pulsing beats, and nonstop energy, students lit up the night in style.

Tickets included snacks and three drinks, keeping the crowd fueled as they danced the night away. Nexus members and their friends filled the venue with good vibes, glowing outfits, and unforgettable memories.

Nexus DodgeHoli

On April 25th, Nexus brought a vibrant twist to the Flux Fields with DodgeHoli — where dodgeball met the spirit of Holi! With bursts of organic, skin-safe colors flying through the air and laughter echoing across the field, students embraced the chaos in old white T-shirts, ready to get messy.

From high-energy dodgeball matches to relaxing over snacks, drinks, and warm Butter Paneer Masala, the evening was a perfect mix of fun, food, and friendly competition. Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped color the field with joy!

PhD Financial Masterclass - Stock Market 101

On March 10, PhD students gathered in Flux 0.150 for an insightful session on mastering the basics of investing — from stocks and ETFs to crypto and bonds. Organized by E.P.A Nexus in collaboration with eToro, the event aimed to empower young researchers with the tools to build a financially secure future.

An expert from eToro guided attendees through key investment concepts, chart analysis, and market metrics, offering practical tips and real-world examples. Whether total beginners or curious learners, participants walked away with a stronger understanding of how to navigate the world of finance.
